About The Position

To provide instruction, leadership, training, and operate as required to accomplish tasks assigned by the production supervisor. Have working knowledge of all operations in the plant.

Requirements

  • High school education preferred
  • Three Years of Packaging Operator experience required.
  • Full qualification of the Formulation II Operator tasks.
  • Proven proficiency in operation of packaging equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of best production procedures.
  • Ability to instruct line to accomplish duties as assigned by the production supervisor.
  • Be able to carry 55 lbs. packages up to 6 feet.
  • Capacity to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & D365
  • Record KPIs assigned by Production Supervisor.
  • Determine Root Causes & implement solutions.
  • Provide Continuous Improvement to Packaging Process
  • Able to take both oral and written instructions from supervisory personnel.
  • Have completed both HAZ COM and HAZ MAT refresher training.
  • Successful completion of the forklift training and licensing program.
  • Microsoft D365 Training
  • Periodic Leadership Development & Problem Solving

Responsibilities

  • Proven ability to operate packaging equipment in accordance with plant standards.
  • Accomplish tasks in a safe and timely manner as instructed by the production supervisor.
  • Educate team members in proper practices to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Properly clean up small spills, label, store, weigh, and prepare for shipment all hazardous waste containers.
  • Proven ability to operate packaging equipment in accordance with plant standards of performance. Specifically, be advanced enough to know how to operate the label machines and filling machines in addition to the rest of the filling line.
  • Train those assigned to work with them in proper practices to accomplish given tasks.
  • Have proven ability to operate plant forklifts and pass required refresher training.
  • Recognize problems within assigned work areas including mechanical equipment with the unit.
  • Possess verbal skills to communicate changes, problems, or emergency information to supervision and other operators in the unit.
  • Assist or take charge of activating or deactivating equipment using the site Lock-Out/Tag-Out program.
  • Report any unsafe working conditions to the Supervisor/Production Manager.
  • Constantly check to ensure safe conditions.
  • Must be familiar and demonstrate knowledge of SPCC (Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures) policy.
  • All other duties as may be assigned.
