About The Position

Packaging Equipment Specialist II The Packaging Equipment Specialist will assist the commercial operations staff with the maintenance and operation of packaging equipment. Position Summary This position is 100% on-site at the Greenville site. Shift: Monday - Thursday 4 pm - 2:30 am Catalent’s Greenville, N.C. facility specializes in end-to-end turn-key solutions for oral solid dosage forms, including integrated formulation development, analytical services, commercial manufacturing, and packaging. This state-of-the-art facility has had over $100M of investments in recent years and features fit-for-scale capacity with potent handling capabilities, ideal for orphan or targeted drug development. The Packaging Equipment Specialist II will partner with manufacturing staff, users, and vendors to continuously improve operations at the site.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in technical or life sciences discipline with at least five years of mechanical experience required or; High school diploma or equivalent with at least seven years of mechanical experience required.
  • At least 2 years of packaging experience required.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications.
  • Good understanding of cGMPs, industry and regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Good understanding of federal and local regulations regarding health and safety within manufacturing and packaging environments.
  • Position requires the ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Majority of work day is performed while standing, walking, lifting, pulling, and pushing.
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, climbing.
  • Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Works with hazardous chemicals and other active chemical ingredients.
  • This position requires that a respirator be worn for your safety, and as such, employment is contingent upon being able to complete a medical evaluation with satisfactory results. The medical evaluation is conducted via an external vendor assigned by Catalent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide intermediate level of knowledge related to maintaining pharmaceutical packaging.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic functions utilizing equipment manuals and support drawings.
  • Provide direct support of serialization set up and operation.
  • Assist with training junior specialists.
  • Perform set up, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to the packaging line equipment.
  • Perform equipment preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Compile and maintain all information and document relevant to all work under FDA guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
