The Packaging Engineering Manager will be responsible for packaging specifications, damage reduction initiatives, cost saving initiatives through automation, pack spec changes and responsible for the compliance of the EPR Environmental Laws.

  • Maintenance of global standards and the GSPPS global spec system
  • Management of the CDI Engineering team
  • Management of a Ford salaried team
  • The development and implementation of damage reduction initiatives
  • Identification of ways to drive packaging efficiency at the packagers through the trial and implementation of new packaging materials and methods
  • Identification of new opportunities for automation
  • Participation in dealer meetings, dealer visits, and the resolution of dealer issues.
  • Participation in the UAW/Ford Joint Quality Conference and UAW/Ford Joint Ergo Conference and resolution of issues.
  • Management of supplier purchase orders and collaboration with FCSD Purchasing to keep all POs funded.
  • Create new projects and POs as needed.
  • Compliance to the EPR Environmental Laws for each state as they are implemented.
  • Pulling, analyzing and reporting out on critical metrics.
  • Bachelors degree in related discipline required
  • 3+ years managing and supervising teams in a similar capacity
  • Ability to work with large cross-functional teams, both local and remote
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills
  • Package Engineering experience
  • Knowledge of the Ford Part Supply and Logistics division
  • Ability to multi-task, strong problem-solving, conflict management skills, an understanding of how the entire system is integrated, and an urgency to resolve critical issues quickly
