About The Position

Sartori is a family-owned company that has been cultivating award winning artisanal cheese from Wisconsin farms for over four generations. As a packaging engineering co-op/intern, you will work with a cross-functional team focused on product design, process development, quality, and food safety. Students will be exposed to a large variety of packaging processes, equipment, materials, and products. Additionally, during the co-op/internship experience at Sartori, students will interact with and learn from many different external packaging suppliers. This position would start end of May/early June and end sometime in August 2026.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree with a focus on Packaging required.
  • Strong understanding of flexible films, rigid plastics, and corrugated/paperboard materials is required.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies sustainable alternatives to existing packaging formats, materials, and processes.
  • Assists in documentation and specification creation for new and existing packaging.
  • Develop packaging dielines and pallet patterns for new and existing products.
  • Assist in creating shelf-life plans for new or changing products.
  • Support validation efforts under guidance from Packaging Engineers for new packaging formats and changing packaging materials by attending packaging trials.
  • Collaborates cross functionally to identify common challenges and apply established problem-solving techniques to assign root cause and recommended next steps for resolution.
  • Assists Packaging Engineers in packaging prototyping efforts for innovation projects.
