As an established professional engineer and SME for chemical packaging in Alpharetta, you support Arxada’s global packaging category strategy by providing deep technical and market expertise in industrial chemical packaging. This role owns the process to select and specify the appropriate packaging solutions, harmonizes specifications across sites and business units, and identify bundling and cost optimization opportunities. The role also contributes directly to achieving significant cost savings, improving supply security, and supporting sustainability goals.

Requirements

  • BS in Chemical Engineer or Packaging Engineer
  • 5-10 years of demonstrated package engineering experience within the chemical industries with a proven track record in packaging specification management, supplier qualification, and optimization projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of global industrial chemical packaging materials and production processes.
  • Knowledge of global regulatory requirements and safety standards for hazardous goods packaging.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking – ability to identify standardization and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in an international environment.

Responsibilities

  • Owns global packaging evaluation and specification for new products and harmonization of packaging as part of qualification workflow in compliance with global and regional regulatory, safety, sustainability, and performance requirements.
  • Responsible for leading a cross functional team to define the global packaging strategy, ensuring alignment with business needs and sustainability objectives.
  • Global review expected every 3-5 years or sooner based on business need.
  • Define, document, and ensure consistent compliance across the organization for chemical testing and physical performance testing of packaging materials.
  • Provides technical expertise to quality and EHS for investigation of packaging related customer complaints and internal safety incident investigation.
  • Provide technical training for internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
