About The Position

Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. is seeking a Packaging Engineer for the Packaging Team within the Structures Engineering Design Department. We are looking for a Packaging or Structures Engineer who has experience with overall vehicle layout and packaging requirements that will work for the Body Structures team. This role will support current and future product development for occupant packaging, vehicle layouts, and overall packaging development. This role will also support Body/BIW Structure development on current and future product development. WHAT YOU WILL DO Identify interference conditions and feasibility challenges, and develop solutions to address Leverage kinematic models to generate clearance envelopes for accurate spatial planning Manage packaging issues by creating, assigning, and tracking, while coordinating regular packaging review meetings with key stakeholders until achieving resolution Perform benchmarking analysis and maintain a database of dimensional benchmarks Assist in the development of general layout drawings and master sections Analyze surfaces, working closely with designers to ensure production feasibility and alignment with vehicle systems Collaborate across functional teams, including manufacturing, to ensure the feasibility of assembly processes Present to upper management across the organization Design and develop BIW designs for minor and major change programs This role includes up to 25% travel (domestic and international) WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent from an ABET-accredited or equivalent program Excellent communication skills and ability to operate effectively independently and across functions in a global team environment 3+ years of relevant experience Packaging or Structures experience with various levels of propulsion systems in automotive applications and BIW design. Requirements
