Global Manufacturing Operations (GMO's) mission is to establish and execute manufacturing strategies across our global network of Contract Manufacturers (CM), Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), and Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM) partners. We serve the product delivery, driving uncompromising quality and reliability for both New Product Introductions (NPI) and Sustaining Programs. From the first prototype to a product’s End-of-Life (EOL), we manage the complex life-cycle of our platforms through integrated operations, manufacturing engineering, and strategic procurement. As the GMO Packaging Team, we are the last mile of manufacturing excellence. We translate global strategy into physical reality by ensuring every product is protected, documented, and ready for transit. We own the critical intersection of data governance and physical execution—managing the engineering/design, supply chain, and SOPs that allow our supply chain to scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in packaging product development.
  • Experience in supply chain in the following commodities: packaging and printed materials, kitting operations and package labeling.
  • Experience in Hardware Product packaging and Structural Design.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAD (e.g., ArtiosCAD, Creo, SolidWorks).
  • Experience in fundamentals of sourcing packaging materials, pulp packaging, rigid packaging and working with international supply base partners.

Responsibilities

  • Drive appropriate, cost conscious, environmentally conscious, fully tested and qualified quality packaging designs based on Customer/Product Requirements
  • Work globally with cross-functional teams in Operations, Engineering and Partner Management and act as a point of escalation for packaging issues reported by partners and customers and drive root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Design testing plans to validate packaging materials to ensure they are durable, cost-effective, and sustainable and Create drawings, specifications, samples, and written analysis of packaging for approvals.
  • Ensure all packaging materials and products meet applicable safety, regulatory, and compliance standards; manage operational escalations related to such and conduct research on new packaging technologies and best practices.
  • Assist in the supply chain management of packaging and analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
