About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of manufacturing packaging experience preferred.
  • Forklift certified (in house training provided).
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with supervisor and colleagues.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, establish priorities, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to solve problems by adapting knowledge and experience.
  • Results driven, bottom-line oriented, strive to exceed goals, and motivate self and others to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, pack and weigh product appropriately, efficiently and safely.
  • Seal, box and stack product appropriately, efficiently and safely.
  • Communicate problems and potential problems to supervisor.
  • Be an active part in the packaging process; offering suggestions to improve the packaging department and doing whatever is needed to successfully complete the job.
  • Actively participant in packaging meetings.
  • Responsible for required sanitation of equipment, tools, and work area.
  • Act as a backup in the repackaging room.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the entire production/cheese process.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Support safety policies and programs.
