About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest. Job Summary The Package Handler/Driver will help with the sortation of freight while assisting with local pick ups in the area.

Requirements

Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
Ability to work independently
Possess good customer service skills
At least 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes
Sort each package by zip code, city, or state
Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently
Conduct pick-ups for shippers after hours
Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment
Perform other duties as assigned
