UPMC's Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiac Electrophysiology team. Position: Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Location: Passavant McCandless inpatient and outpatient. Occasional travel to UPMC Jameson HVI outpatient clinic and occasional travel for weekend call to UPMC Mercy and East. Schedule: 4 10-hour shifts with on average 6 to 8 weekends per year, Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Position Details: Approximately 50%25 hospital rounding and 50%25 outpatient clinic. Searching for an APP that is motivated and committed to master management of the cardiac electrophysiology patient. This position requires approximately 6 months of training in both the inpatient and outpatient setting . Cardiology experience is preferred. New grads or, APPs new to cardiology, will be required to participate in the HVI fellowship program as well as EP specific related training. The APP is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The APP has responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The APP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. The role of the APP encompasses the beginnings of leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision. The APP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The APP begins to demonstrate a commitment to the community and to their healthcare profession. The successful candidate will be placed according to years and months of experience for employment purposes. The posted salary range is for the Senior level which requires three (3) or more years of APP experience.
