About The Position

Kids Above All is seeking a part-time overnight youth care worker floater for their Naperville, IL, Lisle, IL, and Downers Grove, IL locations, specifically for Friday and Saturday nights from 11pm-7am. The Youth Care Worker is responsible for providing for the physical and emotional needs of adolescent residents in a group home setting. They will work with the Group Home Team to ensure the safety and appropriate supervision of residents, enforcing policies, rules, and licensing standards. The role involves planning and supervising recreational and leisure activities, assisting in therapeutic activities, making decisions regarding resident activities and behaviors, and coordinating their movements. The worker must also control visitor admission and telephone use, maintain privacy and security, teach life skills, and perform required record keeping for daily logs and resident files. The position requires availability to work overnight on Friday and Saturday.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Maintenance of required DCFS driver approval standards
  • Access to an insured automobile that meets standards for safety to transport clients as needed
  • Must reside in Illinois
  • Must be available to work overnight Friday and Saturday, 11 PM - 7 AM

  • 0-3 yrs experience with teens in a social service setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide for the physical and emotional needs of adolescent residents in a group home setting
  • Work with the Group Home Team to ensure safety and appropriate supervision of residents
  • Supervise and monitor residents
  • Enforce and maintain consistency concerning policies, rules, and licensing standards
  • Work cooperatively with other staff in planning and supervision of recreational and leisure time activities within Group Home and community
  • Assist in planning and carrying out of therapeutic activities for assigned clients
  • Make frequent decisions regarding resident’s activities and behaviors
  • Know whereabouts of each resident at all times
  • Coordinate coming and going of each individual in residence
  • Exercise control over the admission of visitors and use of the telephone
  • Maintain proper privacy and security of residents and staff on duty
  • Teach and assist residents in life skills
  • Perform required record keeping for daily logs and resident files
