The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, supporting store goals, maintaining a clean store, and accurately handling cash transactions. This role involves assisting customers, adhering to company policies, and fostering positive relationships with hospital contacts and volunteers.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to every customer who enters the gift shop, including greeting upon entry, thanking for purchase, and inviting back upon exit.
  • Meet store performance objectives, including daily and monthly sales goals.
  • Follow Corporate and Store Manager directions for supporting events.
  • Clock in and out according to the scheduled work slot to ensure the store stays within its budgeted hours allotment for the week.
  • Ensure the store is clean and looks its best, including dusting shelves, cleaning trash and spots, organizing items displayed according to corporate standards, and maintaining general cleanliness.
  • Follow any special cleanliness requirements related to infection prevention, cleaning surfaces as per the gift shop schedule and instructions.
  • Handle cash, including counting down the register drawer to ensure accuracy at the start of every shift.
  • Count the drawer in the presence of the incoming employee (or Store Manager) during a shift change.
  • Follow company policy for taking credit cards and other forms of payment (e.g., cash, payroll deduction, hospital charge account).
  • Properly notate any cash overages or shortages per company policy and notify the Store Manager immediately of unexplained differences of more than $10.
  • Follow hospital and Cloverkey policies related to personal appearance, attendance, and customer service.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the hospital contact and an understanding of the importance of maintaining a good relationship with the hospital.
  • Show respect for and understanding of the role of volunteers in the hospital and in the gift shop (if applicable).
