About The Position

Cloverkey is a family-owned business operating retail gift shops within hospital systems, built on values of hard work, integrity, and exceptional customer service. They are seeking a Part Time Sales Associate who embodies these qualities. The Sales Associate's primary responsibilities include delivering exceptional customer service, supporting store goals, maintaining a clean store environment, and accurately handling cash transactions. This role also involves assisting customers, adhering to company policies, and fostering positive relationships with hospital contacts and volunteers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with customers
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Basic math skills for processing transactions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell and cross-sell products
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

  • Previous experience in gifts sales or a related field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to every customer who enters the gift shop.
  • Greet every customer upon entry into the shop, thank them for their purchase, and invite them back as they exit the shop.
  • Meet store performance objectives, including daily and monthly sales goals.
  • Follow Corporate and Store Manager directions for supporting events.
  • Clock in and out according to the scheduled work slot to ensure the store stays within its budgeted hours allotment for the week.
  • Ensure the store is clean and looks its best.
  • Dust all shelves, remove any trash from the gift shop floor, clean spots, organize items displayed according to corporate standards, and maintain a generally clean and tidy store.
  • Perform any special cleanliness requirements related to infection prevention.
  • Clean surfaces as per the gift shop schedule and instructions.
  • Be responsible for personal cash handling.
  • Count down the register drawer to ensure accuracy at the start of every shift.
  • In the event of a shift change, the outgoing employee will count the drawer in the presence of the incoming employee (or Store Manager).
  • Follow company policy for taking credit cards and other forms of payment (e.g., cash, payroll deduction, hospital charge account, etc.).
  • Properly notate any cash overages or shortages per company policy and notify the Store Manager immediately of unexplained differences of more than $10.
  • Follow hospital and Cloverkey policies related to personal appearance, attendance, and customer service.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the hospital contact and an understanding of the importance of maintaining a good relationship with the hospital.
  • Show respect for and understanding of the role of volunteers in the hospital and in the gift shop (if applicable).
