A role in Construction means leading the execution of store and distribution center projects. From large program rollouts to unique special projects, or large ground-up construction, you’ll help manage the scope, schedule, and budget for all Target construction projects, including adhering to the project timeline, coordinating and overseeing the onsite construction process and turnover. You’ll keep all of the players and partners aligned with effective communication between vendors, general contractors, field leadership and project teams. As an Owner’s Site Representative , you will assist the Target CPM with Gmax review and ensure the contractors receive all construction materials, equipment and fixtures; inspect for damage; reconcile quantities received with purchase orders; and submit reports to Target Headquarters as required. Duties include assisting in the resolution of contractual disputes while managing contractors, vendors, and installers to ensure that the work is accurate, complete, in compliance with the plans, and meets quality standards. This includes inspecting the General Contractor Quality Control programs, participating in the development and management of schedules while managing the site work and/or building construction and installation activities for the projects. Additionally, you will facilitate open communication with Target Properties and Store Operation teams, while implementing strategies for best methods to ensure consistency. As an OSR, you will manage change and promptly resolve communication conflicts, delays and/or performance problems, and provide feedback to applicable partners and propose changes to enhance the program. An important element of the role is to orient each store management and Property Management team to their new building and deliver the Construction Turnover Package to Store Operations and Building Services partners upon completion.
