About The Position

DJCA Cornerstone is a growing, family-oriented Owner's Representative and Project Management firm based in Pittsford, NY. We represent owners throughout the planning, design, and construction process, acting as their trusted advocate to ensure projects are delivered with clarity, accountability, and attention to detail. Our work bridges the gap between owners, architects, engineers, and contractors. We are not a general contractor. We manage projects from the owner's perspective, with a strong emphasis on coordination, documentation, quality, and communication. DJCA Cornerstone is seeking a Project Manager / Owner's Representative to manage construction projects on behalf of our clients from early planning through project closeout. This role is ideal for a design or construction professional who enjoys being involved across all phases of a project, values collaboration, and takes pride in representing the owner's best interests. This is a client-side construction management role. It is not an IT, software, or Agile project management position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent construction experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management, field supervision, or owner-side roles
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and documentation
  • General knowledge of building codes and permitting processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; MS Project required, AutoCAD a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid New York State driver's license and ability to travel locally

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction projects on behalf of the Owner throughout design and construction
  • Develop, monitor, and report on project budgets and schedules
  • Coordinate and communicate with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors
  • Review and track progress billings, invoices, and change orders
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, approvals, and project documentation
  • Coordinate, participate in, and occasionally lead project meetings
  • Perform on-site inspections to observe quality of work, materials, safety, and conformance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes
  • Maintain observation logs including work progress, site activity, weather, and photographs
  • Assist with permitting coordination and municipal requirements
  • Support design development, including document review and coordination with design professionals
  • Assist with gathering and documenting existing field conditions
  • Support review of shop drawings, product submissions, scopes of work, and estimates
  • Prepare and distribute weekly project updates and status reports
