About The Position

With over 10 strategic terminals and operations across 49 states and Canada, the company utilizes a fleet of modern stainless steel and aluminum tank trailers and fosters a team-first culture. This Owner Operator position operates out of the Louisville, KY, terminal. Drivers can choose between Regional (home every 3–5 days) or Over-the-Road (gone for 7+ days, ideal for maximizing mileage and income) driving options. As an Owner Operator, you are considered a business owner and a critical partner, responsible for managing your business aspects while partnering with Altom Transport for long-term success and high revenue potential.

Requirements

• Late model equipment that meets Altom’s inspection standards
• Valid CDL Class A License
• Tanker Endorsement (N)
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable tanker driving experience
• At least 23 years of age
• Clean MVR and strong safety record
• Able to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
• Dependable, safety-minded, and capable of working independently
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 operations if needed

Nice To Haves

• Hazmat Endorsement (H) (must obtain within 90 days of hire; assistance available)
• TWIC Card (or must obtain after hire)

Responsibilities

• Hauling chemical and petroleum products using tank trailers while adhering to DOT regulations
• Ensuring your truck meets all inspection standards and remains in top condition for long-haul success
• Following proper procedures for ISO/Flexi-Bag or Tanker operations at loading and delivery points
• Maintaining accurate logs, submitting necessary paperwork, and adhering to Hazmat regulations
• Representing Altom Transport professionally at all customer locations
• Managing fuel purchases, trip planning, and scheduling to maximize revenue
• Maintain a steady workload by meeting mileage or hour requirements to contribute to the overall success of the operation
• Willingness to be available 24/7 when needed
