About The Position

Evolve Treatment Centers offers residential and outpatient treatment programs for teens aged 12 to 17 struggling with mental health, substance abuse, or behavior issues. They provide a positive, home-like setting in California, focusing on clinical excellence and holistic growth. The Overnight Residential Counselor is responsible for the safety and supervision of clients at one of the 6-bed residential treatment centers. This role requires staying awake all night to ensure client safety, performing small chores to maintain cleanliness, and conducting inventory checks. The ideal candidate is dedicated, patient, and a reliable team player. The position offers training, competitive pay, and growth opportunities. As a critical health worker, the counselor may be exposed to COVID or work with COVID-positive clients, with Evolve adhering to strict safety guidelines and PPE requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to stay awake all night
• At least 21 years old
• At least 6-9 months of experience working with teens with mental health or substance abuse
• At least 6-9 months of experience in an adolescent group home or similar setting
• Willingness to work at least 1 weekend shift
• Ability to pass a LiveScan background check and clear federal and state criminal background checks, and child abuse indexes
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license
• Willingness to interact with COVID-positive clients, as needed

Nice To Haves

• Previous overnight shift experience
• College coursework or bachelor’s degree
• Previous work or volunteer experience with teens or working in a group home (teens or adults)

Responsibilities

• Be awake, alert, and active for the entire duration of the night shift (10pm-6am)
• Ensure clients are in bed all night and be able to provide line of sight of clients at all times
• check on the clients every 15 minutes
• Walk through the facility and do a maintenance check
• Assist with inventory check and notify the facility manager of anything that need attention
• Document all shift activity in KIPU
• Help maintain the cleanliness of the facility
• Attend and participate in monthly Treatment Team Meetings
