About The Position

The Exterior Clean Lead oversees and guides a team of aircraft exterior cleaners, ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient cleaning operations while coordinating with airport departments to support timely aircraft turnarounds. The Exterior Clean Lead is responsible for leading a team of exterior aircraft cleaners, ensuring high-quality and efficient cleaning of aircraft exteriors. This position involves organizing and delegating cleaning tasks, training new team members, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures. The lead also conducts inspections to guarantee that cleaning standards are met and maintains records of cleaning schedules and activities. Additionally, you will act as a key point of contact between the cleaning team and other airport departments, coordinating efforts to optimize aircraft turnaround time while maintaining strict attention to detail and safety.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • 1 Year of Customer Service 
  • 1 Year of cleaning or maintenance experience
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
  • Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the activities of the exterior aircraft cleaning team 
  • Train new team members in proper aircraft cleaning techniques and safety procedures 
  • Inspect aircraft before and after cleaning to ensure quality standards are met 
  • Allocate staff and resources efficiently to handle multiple aircraft cleaning tasks 
  • Monitor the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations 
  • Maintain a schedule for regular cleaning and special cleaning requests from airlines 
  • Communicate effectively with ground crew, maintenance staff, and management 
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols for working at heights and around aircraft 
  • Respond to and manage any on-the-job emergencies or incidents 
  • Evaluate team performance and provide feedback and coaching 
  • Liaise with airlines and airport authorities regarding cleaning standards and schedules 
  • Keep track of inventory and order cleaning supplies and equipment as needed 
  • Develop and improve cleaning procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness 
  • Prepare reports on team activities, cleaning schedules, and any issues encountered 
  • Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
