The Overnight Engineer III is responsible for responding to and resolving guest repair requests with minimal supervision. This role involves performing preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, managing maintenance inventory, and ensuring effective communication across shifts. Key responsibilities include inspecting tools, operating shut-off valves, and communicating daily activities and problems. The position requires advanced proficiency in reading blueprints and electrical schematics, strong general mechanical ability, and expertise in at least three engineering categories such as air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry, with above-average skills in three more and basic skills in the rest. The engineer must safely perform complex repairs on physical property, electrical, plumbing, mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration, and pool heaters, adhering to company standards and codes. Troubleshooting and repairing various hotel equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems, including the use of the Lockout/Tagout system, are essential. The role also demands advanced knowledge of engineering computer programs for preventative maintenance and energy management, as well as the ability to troubleshoot hotel MEP systems. Furthermore, the Overnight Engineer III is expected to train and mentor other engineers and fulfill Engineer on Duty responsibilities. Adherence to company safety and security policies, maintaining a professional appearance, protecting company assets, and providing excellent guest service are also integral to the role. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, moving up and down stairs and ladders, and performing tasks requiring bending, twisting, and stooping.
