A LITTLE ABOUT US The Coffee Oasis is a Christian non-profit organization that exists to create pathways of opportunity for youth to be restored in heart, soul, mind, and body. We believe youth are the future of our community, but many are hurting, homeless, and hindered from living their full potential. The Coffee Oasis youth programs offer a place for the community to invest in their future-the youth. We do this through creating safe shared spaces, mentorship, street and school outreach, goal setting, job training, shelter, and crisis services. The only way for our mission to succeed is through the support of the entire community-intentional inter-generational and cross-cultural investment. We accomplish this mission through a sustainable and successful coffee business. The cafés offer a "third place" for the community to gather and buy products with the added value of all profits returning to create opportunities for youth. Purpose The Overnight Direct Care Staff at The Coffee Oasis plays a vital role in caring for and supervising youth at our Overnight Teen Shelter. This position involves essential responsibilities, including assisting with screening, evaluation, and orientation of homeless youth, ensuring a welcoming environment. You will handle crisis phone calls and address walk-in situations, providing immediate support to those in need. The role requires completing weekly and monthly program reports and administering medications responsibly. Additionally, you will prepare youth each morning, ensuring they are dressed, fed, and ready for school or other activities, while also promoting healthy habits. Maintaining discipline and recommending behavioral interventions are critical, as is keeping the shelter clean and safe for everyone. Your contributions will be vital in creating a nurturing atmosphere, and participation in meetings and training will enhance your professional growth and effectiveness in this fulfilling role. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN OVERNIGHT DIRECT CARE STAFF As a Part Time Overnight Direct Care Staff member at The Coffee Oasis, your primary focus will be on providing supervision, support, and care to youth at our Overnight Teen Shelter. You will: Assist with screening, evaluation, and orientation of homeless youth, ensuring a welcoming environment. Handle crisis phone calls and address walk-in situations, providing immediate support to those in need. Complete weekly and monthly program reports. Administer medications responsibly. Prepare youth each morning, ensuring they are dressed, fed, and ready for school or other activities. Help establish healthy habits and life skills. Maintain discipline and recommend behavioral interventions as needed. Keep the shelter clean and safe for everyone. Ensure a safe environment for fellow employees and youth. Participate in meetings and training to enhance your professional growth and effectiveness. Perform additional duties as required to support the organization's goals.

Requirements

• To thrive as a Part Time Overnight Direct Care Staff member at The Coffee Oasis, candidates must exhibit strong alignment with our core values, mission, and commitment to following the example of Jesus.
• Be in full agreement with The Coffee Oasis's mission, vision, and core values.
• Be at least twenty-one years of age.
• Have at least one year of experience working with adolescents.
• Have completed first aid, CPR, HIV/AIDS/Bloodborne pathogen training, and tuberculin test.
• Possess current driver's license, access to a vehicle, and personal automobile insurance.
• Be a high school graduate.
• Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts as required for reporting.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Internet, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software.
• Internet research skills are a plus.
