About The Position

As an Overnight Bell Attendant, you are an integral part to the entire guest arrival and first contact our guests and patrons have with The Sanctuary. Be professional and friendly at all times, possess an extensive / intimate knowledge of the hotel operational policies and procedures, as guests will require a vast array of resort services and information. Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay for this position will be determined during the hiring process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent vocational training certificate, required.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to work mornings, evenings, and varied work schedules (including weekends and Holidays) as it pertains to the various needs and movements of the guests of the hotel.
  • Must be able to communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
  • Must be able to lift and carry minimum weight of 50 lbs. across short-medium distances.
  • Must physically be able to transport luggage over the course of an eight (8) hour shift, and remain standing for a vast majority of that shift.
  • Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, intense work environment, sometimes under extreme heat and stress, and must be able to remain calm.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree – ideally in Hospitality or Travel and Tourism – is preferred.
  • Past hotel / resort experience preferred, preferably in a luxury setting.
  • Previous Guest Services / Bell Person experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of luggage to and from the guestrooms.
  • Facilitate guest traffic in the lobby, open doors and deliver time sensitive materials, such as: overnight packages, guestroom amenities, and shoe shines.
  • Must be someone who appreciates the opportunity to be of service to others, as one of the main responsibilities of this role is to offer assistance to all guests that walk by, or perhaps bike up to, the hotel.
  • Multi-task, be able to work both independently and in a team environment and be able to resolve challenges that may arise.
  • Coordinate and work with Valet Attendants and Door Persons to ensure smooth operation of the front drive / lobby.
  • Follow and support Service Commitment and Core Values.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
