We are seeking an Overnight Baker to join our team. As a key member of the Eau Palm Beach team, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional service to our guests, upholding the standards of our Forbes Five-Star resort. ---------------------------------------- Role Summary: The Overnight Baker will be responsible for the preparation, baking and finishing of all breads, breakfast bakeries, cookies and other specified baked goods in accordance with departmental quality standards and specifications. This role maintains the organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment. This role is a flexible position (AM / PM), and all candidates must be able to work weekends, holidays, and nights. We have a full-time position available. This role is designated for our Pastry Department.

Requirements

  • Two years experience in baking at a luxury hotel or restaurant.
  • Food handling certificate.
  • Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
  • Ability to provide legible communication.
  • Ability to do basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to follow recipes and produce product consistently and at a high level.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow through.
  • Ability to be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines.
  • Ability to maintain good coordination.
  • Ability to transport cases of received goods to the work station; pots and pans of food from storage/prep areas to the serving line.
  • Ability to work with all products and ingredients involved.
  • Ability to use all senses to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Ability to differentiate dates.
  • Ability to operate, clean and maintain all equipment required in   job functions.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow recipes.
  • Ability to expand and condense recipes.
  • Ability to produce creative and artistic products.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship.
  • Sanitation certificate.
