About The Position

Forward Edge-AI, Inc. delivers advanced AI-driven and secure infrastructure solutions supporting commercial enterprise, public safety, national security, and defense markets. We enable secure, high-performance data transport and infrastructure integration across hybrid and distributed environments. Our customer base is predominantly commercial enterprise, with select engagements supporting military and public-sector missions. We are seeking Sales Engineers with deep enterprise networking expertise who can operate confidently in both commercial and security-conscious environments. We are seeking two Outside Technical Sales Engineers with strong enterprise networking backgrounds to lead technical engagement from early architecture discovery through proof-of-concept validation and production deployment. This role is networking-forward. The ideal candidate must be able to: · Whiteboard enterprise network architectures from memory · Explain L2/L3 topology decisions and tradeoffs · Identify where secure transport solutions integrate within DMZs, firewalls, and hybrid cloud environments · Articulate latency, throughput, and failover implications in real-world enterprise infrastructure This is a hybrid technical-sales role, but enterprise networking depth is mandatory.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or technical pre-sales
  • Strong enterprise networking background (hands-on or architecture level)
  • Demonstrated ability to whiteboard and explain enterprise L2/L3 network architectures
  • Experience working in commercial enterprise infrastructure environments
  • Ability to support complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
  • Valid U.S. Passport or ability to obtain

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with secure transport, cybersecurity, or infrastructure products
  • Familiarity with DoD or Intelligence Community environments
  • Experience delivering pilots or POCs for enterprise customers
  • Knowledge of quantum computing concepts in advanced networking or security contexts
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, quota-driven commercial environments

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Networking Architecture & Technical Discovery (Primary Focus)
  • Lead technical discovery sessions focused on enterprise network topology, segmentation, and security architecture
  • Whiteboard and explain L2/L3 enterprise networks including routing, switching, firewall placement, and segmentation strategy
  • Design secure integration patterns within:
  • DMZ architectures
  • Site-to-site VPN deployments
  • MPLS and SD-WAN environments
  • Hybrid cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Analyze latency, bandwidth, throughput, and failover considerations in distributed systems
  • Conduct customer security architecture reviews and respond to technical questionnaires
  • Infrastructure & Deployment Execution:
  • Support hardware appliance deployment and integration into enterprise environments
  • Guide firmware/software updates and lifecycle management
  • Leverage Linux command-line tools for troubleshooting and validation
  • Utilize basic scripting (Python helpful) for configuration or automation tasks
  • Understand REST APIs, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and containerization fundamentals
  • POC Deployment & Performance Validation:
  • Define measurable success criteria before proof-of-concept deployments
  • Create structured test plans aligned to enterprise performance metrics
  • Identify and measure KPIs including:
  • Latency
  • Throughput
  • Key exchange time
  • oailover recovery time
  • Conduct side-by-side benchmarking
  • Translate technical results into business value: ROI, cost avoidance, and risk mitigation
  • Sales Engineering & Revenue Support:
  • Partner with Account Executives on complex enterprise deals
  • Support capture-to-close sales cycles
  • Lead technical demos, workshops, and customer briefings
  • Handle networking and architecture objections with credibility
  • Contribute technical input to RFIs, RFPs, and proposals
  • Content & Practice Development:
  • Develop technical solution briefs and white papers
  • Improve reusable sales engineering assets
  • Maintain awareness of emerging enterprise networking and secure infrastructure technologies
