Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of outside sales experience , preferably in the natural gas, utility, or construction industries .
  • Experience selling to contractors, utilities, or municipalities strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Comfortable with up to 50% travel (approx. 8-12 overnights per month).
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
  • Self-starter with strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow an existing customer base while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Build relationships with decision makers at natural gas companies, contractors, and municipalities.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans that align with company goals.
  • Present products in a consultative, solutions-driven manner to meet customer needs.
  • Manage the full sales pipeline using EGW's CRM system (Activities, Opportunities, Quotes, Contacts).
  • Schedule and conduct customer appointments, training sessions, and product demonstrations.
  • Represent EGW at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes and industry trends that could impact customer needs.
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Service and Operations to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Analyze territory markets, track competitor activity, and prepare regular reports for leadership.
  • Support new product launches and ensure customer adoption.
  • If applicable, manage remote inventory in a storage facility or assigned company vehicle.
