As our Outside Sales Representative for the Electrical Division, you will be instrumental in developing and managing key accounts, generating new business, and building lasting relationships with contractors, builders, and electrical professionals throughout your assigned territory. You will drive sales growth for our comprehensive range of electrical products and services, playing a vital role in our organization.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have (3 or more) years of electrical distribution sales experience.
  • Proven success in the electrical industry in the greater Cincinnati market.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical products and systems is required.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and prioritize tasks with precision.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the designated territory.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in leveraging data to drive decisions and enhance sales performance.
  • Relationship Building: Expertise in building and nurturing high-value client and partner relationships.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both internally and externally.
  • Collaboration: The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, and navigate construction sites, warehouses, or client locations for extended periods. Frequent driving to customer locations within the assigned territory is required.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift and carry electrical products, samples, and promotional materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Climbing/Bending: Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or scaffolding as needed during site visits. Frequent bending, crouching, or kneeling to inspect or demonstrate Electrical products.
  • Environment: Exposure to varying weather conditions during field visits (heat, cold, rain). Work in potentially noisy, dusty, or challenging environments like construction sites or warehouses.
  • Vision/Hearing: Visual acuity to read product specifications, site plans, and sales materials. Hearing ability to communicate effectively in person or over the phone in potentially noisy environments.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for operating tools, equipment, or mobile devices. Ability to demonstrate the use of electrical products during presentations.
  • Travel: Required travel within the region's territory. Occasional travel to other company locations, supplier meetings, or industry events may be necessary (driving or flying).
  • Extended Hours: Ability to work extended hours, including evenings or weekends, during peak seasons or when meeting deadlines.
  • All selected candidates are required to undergo pre-employment screenings, including background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Sales and Business Development Identify and cultivate relationships with prospective customers, including contractors, electricians, builders, and businesses within the electrical industry.
  • Champion and sell our electrical products, services, and solutions to meet diverse customer needs.
  • Craft and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our market share.
  • Account Management Build customer relationships, ensuring high satisfaction and fostering repeat business.
  • Collaborate with key manufacturers to enhance customer connections with Wiseway Supply through joint sales initiatives.
  • Deliver impeccable customer service, including timely quotation follow-up and diligent follow-through on customer requests.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with clients to provide product updates, resolve issues, and offer effective solutions.
  • Partner seamlessly with our Lexington Branch team to optimize customer service, including order and pricing accuracy.
  • Ensure customers actively support all Wiseway Supply initiatives, such as customer events and product promotions.
  • Technical Expertise Enhance Wiseway Supply's profile by actively participating in local industry and trade association functions.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on electrical industry trends, product innovations, and competitor offerings.
  • Continuously improve your product and technical knowledge.
  • Provide expert product knowledge and technical guidance to our valued customers.
  • Maintain proficiency in operational procedures and computer systems.
  • Field Work Conduct on-site visits to assess customer needs, recommend tailored solutions, and close sales.
  • Travel extensively within your assigned territory to meet with clients and prospects.
  • Collaboration Work in unison with the branch team, Director of Commercial Electrical Sales, and General Manager to ensure seamless customer service and order fulfillment.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and sales events.
  • Meet regularly with your Sales Director and General Manager to review accounts and refine performance plans.
  • Communicate proactively with the Credit Department to ensure accurate account information, including contacts and any relevant credit insights.
  • Continuously monitor market, competitive, and economic conditions that may influence sales of Company products.
  • Conduct quarterly customer business reviews using PHOCAS software to identify sales/gross profit dollar growth opportunities and uncover new possibilities within accounts.
