About The Position

Worthington Steel is hiring a Summer Intern for our Outside Processing (OSP) Steel Team! Worthington Steel’s Summer Internship Program is a 12-week program beginning at the end of May and running through early August. This role offers hands-on experience within our supply chain organization, supporting the coordination and management of steel orders processed through outside vendors. The intern will gain real-world exposure to steel processing, order management, and supply chain execution while contributing to meaningful, business-impacting work. Interns are expected to work onsite at our Columbus, Ohio headquarters at least three days per week. Worthington Steel is not responsible for providing supplemental housing.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (experience with data analytics tools is a plus)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in supply chain operations and steel processing

Responsibilities

• Supporting order management activities across multiple outside processing partners
• Monitoring and analyzing on-time delivery (OTD) metrics
• Assisting with billing and invoicing processes
• Helping update and communicate lead times
• Validating and auditing analytics dashboards for accuracy
• Assisting with quarterly inventory reconciliations and audits
• Supporting Accounts Payable (AP) validation activities
• Updating and improving onboarding and training documentation
• Identifying process gaps and recommending improvements through data analysis
