About The Position

MasTec Communications Group is a leading national infrastructure construction company operating throughout the United States, specializing in both wireline and wireless communication services. They are experts in cell tower construction, RF engineering, broadband fiber optic cable installation, OSP engineering, wireline construction, and emergency maintenance services. MasTec Technical Services, a MasTec company, is seeking a full-time Outside Plant Fielder to support a large-scale Telecommunications project. This role involves completing site visits, taking legible field notes for the design of construction drawings across various applications (aerial, buried, underground, and building), analyzing work sites and design requests to determine the scope of work, and ensuring projects are delivered within timelines and with quality. The Fielder will also communicate with the OSP Designer, interact professionally with internal and external customers, and adhere to all company safety practices and policies.

Requirements

• Understanding of Telecom, Fiber, and Outside Plant required
• Relevant experience with utilities, cabling, or construction is also considered
• Excellent communication for daily interaction with various teams
• Above-average penmanship for hand-drawn field notes
• Knowledge of computer programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Dropbox)
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record, and reliable transportation is required
• Willing to be trained and adapt to changing industry trends, and continue education for Engineering design and best practices
• Work schedule to match the hours of our customers and meet deadlines
• Must be local as this role requires outdoor site visits in various weather conditions + remote work when not in the field
• Dress appropriately and meet safety standards while on-site

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma and completed courses from technical school or community college preferred

Responsibilities

• OSP Fielder will complete site visits within the given market
• Take legible field notes for the design of construction drawings in aerial, buried, underground, and building applications
• Analyze work site and design requests, then determine the scope of work to be completed
• Deliver projects within the timeline and ensure the quality of work completed
• Pay attention to detail and communicate any concerns or updates with the OSP Designer
• Interact with internal and external customers, representing MasTec and our client in a professional manner
• Adhere to all company safety practices and policies
