About The Position

Outreach Program Associate - Shady Grove Family YMCA and Chickahominy Family YMCA The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate professional to serve as an Outreach Program Associate in our community-centered, Enriching Learning programming. At the YMCA, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive. This part time position pays $25 per hour for up to 10 hours per week. Requirements

  • A minimum of one year related experience is required.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and possess strong oral and written communication skills, problem solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Must be willing to work on projects with varying programming and reporting requirements.
  • Some evening and weekend work is required.
  • Requires the ability to travel to and between branch locations and event locations.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
  • May be required to lift up to 25lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with computers and customer service preferred.
  • One of our core program areas is English as a Second Language with a strong emphasis on education, so experience in these areas is preferred.
  • Multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • building and maintaining positive, authentic relationships with program participants, community members, staff, and community partners
  • ensuring logistics of programming are appropriately prepared
  • working to create a safe and productive learning environments
  • communicating with parents and caregivers of youth involved in programs
  • training and supervising volunteers during programming
