About The Position

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for engaging the community through educational, recreational, and cultural programs that support learning, creativity, and innovation as well as personal, social, and community development.

Requirements

A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
1-2 years of experience in a library, school, event planning, public relations, or similar setting.
Must be able to keyboard accurately.

Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Responsibilities

Plans, markets, and facilitates educational, recreational, and cultural programs for adults, teens, and children at locations throughout the County.
Plans and prepares publicity for programs.
Promotes Library events at community events and meetings.
Collaborates with community partners to offer relevant, partner-led outreach programs.
Maintains a catalog on ongoing programs which introducing new programs and special events in response to patron and community demand.
Researches current trends to incorporate into programs.
Coordinates set up and take down of outreach spaces.
Completes 24 hours of professional development a year.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as a regular part of their work week.
In case of emergency or crisis situation (hurricane, flood, etc.) position is required to respond/perform emergency and recovery duties as assigned by the County Manager or designee. During an emergency or crisis situation, this position may be required to be present at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) to provide assistance while activated.
