About The Position

The Community Liaison plays a vital role in cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to enhance awareness and engagement with the Motivating New Parents (MNP) program. This position strengthens connections between the agency, families, courts, and community providers through direct outreach, coordination, and event participation. The role emphasizes early referral engagement, particularly for families involved in the child welfare system.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Direct service experience required and will be prioritized.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health systems, trauma-informed care, substance use, and harm reduction principles.
  • Ability to build rapport with diverse populations, including families impacted by child welfare involvement.
  • Familiarity with early childhood systems, dependency court processes, and community-based support networks.
  • Comfort with public speaking, group facilitation, and community engagement.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills for managing referrals and planning events.
  • Ability to maintain timely, professional documentation within an electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Level II background check and drug screening required
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or obtained within the first six months of employment)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health record systems, Zoom/Teams platforms.
  • Ability to navigate various environments (indoor/outdoor, treatment facilities, community sites).
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Comfort working in environments that may involve exposure to verbal distress or communicable diseases.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Represent MNP at family-focused community events, coalition meetings, and partner agency activities to promote program awareness and increase referrals.
  • Attend Early Childhood Court and Dependency Drug Court to support early engagement of child welfare-involved families at the start of the case plan.
  • Periodically co-locate at child welfare offices to build and maintain collaborative partnerships with Child Protective Services and Dependency Case Managers.
  • Track, organize, and coordinate all incoming referrals, ensuring timely connection with the assigned Behavioral Health Consultant.
  • Conduct outreach to referred individuals who have not yet engaged in services to encourage participation and reduce barriers.
  • Lead the planning, promotion, and execution of at least 15 community engagement events annually.
  • Serve as a liaison between external partners and internal teams to improve communication, referral flow, and community visibility.
