About The Position

Become part of a Migrant and Community Health Center, in Benton Harbor and Eau Claire, MI located near South Haven, MI and Lake Michigan: InterCare is searching for a part-time Outpatient Therapist to join our team at the Benton Harbor and Eau Claire Health Centers! Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or Human services field.
  • Must have LLMSW, LMSW, LPC or LLP (limited licensed psychologist) licensure in Michigan.
  • Must be on CAADC development plan or have CAADC (Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor).
  • Clinical experience with provision of mental health services in a community-based setting.
  • Knowledge of health information related to adults, adolescents and/or children.
  • Knowledge of, and experience working in, a primary care facility as a mental/behavioral health specialist preferred.
  • Experience with Motivational Interviewing and CBT.
  • Possesses excellent cross cultural communication skills and the ability to communicate to staff members at all levels

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Knowledge of, and experience working in, a primary care facility as a mental/behavioral health specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation and assistance to medical providers on the management of behavioral health concerns in primary care and help implement the team-determined treatment plan.
  • Conduct comprehensive screenings to evaluate the needs of adults, adolescents, and children for behavioral health intervention, case management, or ongoing mental health or addiction treatment.
  • Provide referrals for more intensive services where appropriate.
  • Provide behavioral interventions to engage and motivate Patients to actively manage their care.
  • Conduct follow-up as appropriate based on assessment and treatment.
  • Provide crisis management for patients as needed; make linkages for interventions as appropriate.
  • Provide Individual Psychotherapy, Group and Family Psychotherapy as needed.
