Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
  • Two (2) years of experience in outpatient clinic services or a directly related area.

Responsibilities

  • Assist immediate supervisor with interviewing, selection, training, evaluation, and counseling of staff in a specific section of Outpatient Services.
  • Instruct and advise staff on changes in policies, procedures, or working conditions.
  • Assist in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures that are consistent with accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the delivery of quality services.
  • Assist in managing the departmental guest relations program.
  • Represent and participate in appropriate committee activities.
  • Confer with physicians and other staff to resolve operational problems and promote communication and good guest relations with patients and the public.
  • Coordinate clerical and/or patient care activities within a section of Outpatient Services by planning, assigning, and reviewing work to provide support to professional staff.
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of unit coverage and continuity of care.
  • Monitor time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely submittal/approval for payroll purposes.
  • May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
