About The Position

The UW Medical Center-Montlake Pharmacy Department is looking for an outstanding Outpatient Pharmacist Intern - Year One to join our Pharmacy team! WORK SCHEDULE • Per Diem • Rotating/Variable Shifts POSITION HIGHLIGHTS • The Pharmacist Intern independently performs a variety of technical pharmaceutical functions, such as compounding medications, filling medication orders, and preparing compounded sterile products. • The Pharmacist Intern performs all duties under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform certified order entry of medication orders into the ambulatory pharmacy computer system. • Fill prescriptions, under direction of a licensed Pharmacist. • Utilize ScriptPro Central for filling, labeling, and batching. • Assist with online processing of prescription orders. • Assist patients with new prescriptions and refills. • Determine payment method and assist patients with alternate sources of payment. • Perform charging and billing functions. • Assist in preparation of compound pharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. • Refer clinical inquiries requiring a Pharmacist’s professional judgment. • Assist with Patient counseling • Discharge medication bedside delivery • Prescription transfers

Requirements

  • Open only to currently enrolled students in the UW School of Pharmacy
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist Intern with the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
