We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Thoracic Surgery team at Washington Hospital Center. Our exceptional team of thoracic surgeons and Advanced Practice Providers treats a wide range of diseases that affect the chest, lungs, and esophagus. These conditions include cancer as well as disorders or injuries of the organs inside the chest. The approach we take to diagnose and treat our patients is tailored to the specific needs of each patient in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for each individual. Using a multidisciplinary approach, we partner with colleagues from disciplines including pulmonology, gastroenterology, medical oncology, radiology, and radiation oncology to develop highly individualized care plans that treat the whole patient. This approach provides patients with high quality care that is unmatched in our service area. The APP in this role will be working in an outpatient clinic. They will be responsible for clearing and preparing the patients for surgery as well as delegating tasks to required staff. The majority of their responsibilities will be in the outpatient setting where they will establish their own clinic to see patients for post op care and follow up visits. The schedule for this role will be Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts with no holidays or weekends. Thoracic or General Surgery experience preferred but not required. New grads are welcome to apply.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
