Key Position Details: The Allina Health Cancer Institute is seeking a Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant to join our collaborative and dedicated team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that combines surgical expertise with compassionate patient care. Schedule : Full-time (1.0 FTE) – will consider .8–1.0 FTE Hours: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts Call/Rounding: None currently; may change in the future Location: Position is located in Minneapolis on the Abbott Northwestern Hospital Campus and includes outreach at our Coon Rapids location. Team Structure: 2 Thoracic Surgeons 3 Physician Assistants A small, close-knit team committed to excellence and teamwork Key Responsibilities: Assist in the operating room for thoracic surgical procedures Provide inpatient care and participate in clinic visits Collaborate closely with surgeons and advanced practice providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes Allina Health Cancer Institute Highlights: Hybrid model blending academic-level medicine with the accessibility of a community-based practice Over 80 highly trained oncology specialists, including medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists Seventeen comprehensive cancer care locations across Minnesota and western Wisconsin Industry-leading integrative oncology and high-risk cancer surveillance programs Accreditation from ACS, CoC, NAPBC, and APEx for quality, excellence, and safety Job Description: Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a Physician/Physician Assistant team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.
