About The Position

The ETSU Department of Internal Medicine invites board-certified or board-eligible Internists to join our established team at ETSU Health outpatient clinics in the Appalachian Highlands of Tennessee. Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of internal medicine principles and evidence-based clinical practice
  • Ability to manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions in an outpatient setting
  • Strong teaching and mentoring skills for medical trainees
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborative care delivery
  • Proficiency in electronic health record documentation and clinical workflows
  • Commitment to professionalism, ethical practice, and patient-centered care
  • Ability to balance clinical, educational, and scholarly responsibilities
  • Medical Degree (MD, DO, or MBBS) from an accredited institution
  • Completion of an Internal Medicine residency from an ACGME-accredited program (at time of hire)
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (at time of interview)

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient internal medicine care, including diagnosis, treatment, and patient education
  • Teach and mentor medical students and residents in Internal Medicine
  • Deliver lectures, lead case discussions, and contribute to hands-on clinical training
  • Engage in scholarly activity and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in internal medicine
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
