About The Position

Our outpatient Mental Health practice located in Salem Virginia, seeks an additional provider to lead our multidisciplinary team. As part of an academic medicine clinic, we supervise resident physicians, training them to be the next generation of physician leaders. About LewisGale Medical Center: LewisGale Medical Center is a fully-accredited, 506-bed acute care facility Level II Trauma Center Accredited Stroke Center Accredited Chest Pain Center Graduate medical education programs training residents in internal medicine, family medicine, emergency medicine, psychiatry, and gastroenterology fellowship The LewisGale Regional Health System includes four hospitals, two cancer centers, six outpatient centers, and three stand-alone ERs About our Psychiatric services and job opportunity: Clinical responsibilities consist of outpatient work Supervision of APP support is required Partnership with Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center About LewisGale Medical Center GME Psychiatry Program: Established in 2018 32 Psychiatry residents Four-year ACGME-accredited program Our residency program is housed at the Pavilion, a 68-bed psychiatric care unit located adjacent to our main medical center. Requirements

  • Must be ACGME board-certified or in the process of becoming board-certified
  • Must have a Virginia license or be able to obtain a Virginia License before start
  • Fellowship training and anticipated board certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry required

Responsibilities

  • Clinical responsibilities consist of outpatient work
