Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050. The Outlying Technician 3 will report to the Tailings Supervisor. As an Outlying Technician 3 you’ll be working in a team environment to efficiently carry out laborer and/or equipment trainee duties while working towards the safety target of zero harm and demonstrating the Capstone Values. The position requires a large portion of your time in the field cleaning, organizing or preparing equipment, driving, and any other tasks as assigned around the entire mine and outlying areas. Awarded level will be based on skill set of candidates. The goal is to find a technician 3 but applicants will be offered technician level based on their current qualifications.

Requirements

Ability to Maintain Grade Levels
Pioneer Roads
Operate Motor Graders
Operate Water Trucks
Operate Back Hoes
Operate Articulating Trucks
Operate Any other Heavy Equipment as Required
Basic Understanding of Maintenance and Installation of Pipe Systems
Have Outlying Technician 1-2 Skills.
Actively participate in line out meetings and safety meetings.
Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English.

Nice To Haves

3 to 5 years of mining experience.
Knowledge open pit mining, tails and water sequence is preferred.
Prior experience in a copper operation strongly preferred.

Responsible for additional tasks/duties assigned as required.
