About The Position
The Outdoor Power Equipment Sales & Maintenance Specialist is responsible for assisting customers with outdoor power equipment purchases, providing product education, performing equipment setup, and supporting basic maintenance and service coordination. This role helps ensure customers receive the right equipment solutions while maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked department.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
Nice To Haves
- Experience in outdoor power equipment, landscaping, or small engine repair
- Previous retail sales experience
- Basic troubleshooting or mechanical repair knowledge
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting outdoor power equipment including lawn mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, snow blowers, generators, and related accessories
- Provide product demonstrations and explain features, operation, and maintenance requirements
- Build strong customer relationships and promote repeat business
- Recommend accessories, attachments, fuel products, and service plans
- Maintain knowledge of product lines, promotions, and financing options
- Assemble and prepare equipment for customer pickup or delivery
- Perform basic setup including fluid checks, blade installation, battery installation, and startup testing
- Educate customers on safe operation and routine maintenance procedures
- Assist with service scheduling, repair intake, and warranty coordination
- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks when needed
- Maintain organized, clean, and retail-ready equipment displays
- Ensure proper pricing, signage, and product presentation
- Assist with stocking, inventory counts, and receiving equipment shipments
- Support seasonal product transitions and department organization
