About The Position

Hydro-Tech Irrigation is one of Northern Virginia’s leading irrigation and outdoor lighting service companies, serving high-end residential communities throughout the region. We are expanding our Outdoor Lighting division and seeking a dependable Outdoor Lighting & Irrigation Technician to support installation, troubleshooting, and seasonal service operations. This position focuses primarily on low-voltage outdoor lighting installation and service, with the flexibility to assist in irrigation service during peak seasons.

Requirements

Strong mechanical aptitude
Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Professional communication skills
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Comfortable working on ladders up to 50 feet
Comfortable performing work in and around Washington, DC

Nice To Haves

Electrical experience
Irrigation or backflow certifications
Experience using hand tools, trenching equipment, or performing landscape work
Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities

Install low-voltage lighting systems including fixtures, wiring, transformers, and timers
Diagnose and troubleshoot lighting failures and wiring issues
Perform lighting system inspections and maintenance
Read and execute lighting designs accurately
Educate homeowners on system operation and maintenance
Assist in training team members on lighting fundamentals
Perform spring start-ups and winterizations
Diagnose and repair leaks, valves, heads, controllers, and wiring
Install irrigation controllers and rain sensors
Complete repairs efficiently and professionally
Explain findings and repair options clearly to homeowners
Present pricing prior to performing work
Document work completed in CRM software
Collect payment upon job completion
Maintain a clean and professional job site
