About The Position

An Irrigation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems in commercial settings. They ensure proper water distribution, troubleshoot issues, and maintain equipment to ensure efficient water use and healthy landscapes.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent.
• Experience in irrigation installations and maintenance.
• Knowledge of different irrigation methods and systems.
• Ability to read blueprints or diagrams for system layout.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Good communion skills
• Able to work independently
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (able to get DOT)
• Able to pass drug test
• Ability to lift heavy equipment, such as irrigation pipes, tools, and machinery, often weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Carrying materials like hoses, sprinkler heads, and valve boxes over long distances.
• Ability to work long hours, often under the sun or in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold or rain.
• Endurance to walk, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods while installing or repairing systems.
• Strong hand eye-coordination to handle smalls tools and equipment with precision.

Responsibilities

• System Installation: Install irrigation systems including pipes, sprinklers, and controllers, ensuring proper water distribution to lawn and plants.
• Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and inspections on existing irrigation systems, including checking for clogs, leaks, and faulty equipment.
• Repairs: Diagnose and repair issues such as broken pipes, malfunctioning sprinklers, or faulty valves to keep systems functioning properly.
• Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve problems with irrigation systems and ensure optimal performance.
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed record of system installations, repairs, operate our scheduling system and maintain a schedule.
• Compliance: Ensure that irrigation systems meet local regulations and water conservation standards.
