About The Position

The Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri (GSEM) Internship Program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to join our mission to impact the lives of girls in the Eastern Missouri region. We are excited to offer a variety of internship opportunities that will promote the GSEM mission while strengthening our collaborative relationship with key stakeholders through offering this unique internship program. Participants in the GSEM Internship Program will learn more about our non-profit organizational structure while gaining critical hands-on work experience. Through supporting a specific department applicable to their field of study, performing a variety of functions, or tasks in multiple departments across the organization; interns will obtain relevant skills to support their individual professional growth and development. This intern will work for the Spring 2026 semester (January-May). Schedule will be discussed during the interview process. About the Role As an Outdoor Experiences Intern, you will work directly with our Camp Staff who oversee the successful operation of our three Girl Scout camp sites located in Troy, Pevely, and Labadie. This internship will be approximately 10-20 hours per week and is eligible for college credit, if applicable. This is a paid internship with an hourly rate of $15.00.

Requirements

  • Interns must be enrolled in a graduate, bachelor's or associate's degree program and have completed at least one (1) semester of college.
  • Interns must be pursuing a degree relevant to the role.
  • Interns may or may not receive academic credit for the internship. If an intern seeks academic credit for the internship, it is up to the intern to establish this through their educational institution.
  • Internships are temporary assignments offered for up to a maximum of four (4) semester periods.
  • Intern work scheduled may vary depending upon course credit requirements, intern scheduling preferences, needs for time off, etc.
  • Interns may work up to twenty (20) hours per week during the school year and up to thirty (30) hours per week during the summer.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with camp operations for both overnight and day programs.
  • Preparing for upcoming camps with program staff.
  • Leading groups and activities.
  • Supporting the overall camp experience.
