Our Outdoor Discovery Camps are licensed KDHE school-age programs run by our award-winning Outdoor Education Team of full-time Park Naturalists. This position leads children ages 6 -12 in outdoor and indoor activities including games, stories, crafts, swimming, creek exploration, field trips, kayaking & canoeing, archery, bb guns, hiking, nature and wildlife lessons, etc. May perform other related duties as assigned. Our Ideal Candidate will have: Enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Strong work ethic and the ability to work well in a team. Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations. Creativity and the ability to come up with new and fun activities for children. Ability to teach campers, problem solve, and exercise independent judgment. Comfortable with leading groups of children ages 6 -12. A genuine interest in working with children and helping them have a positive and memorable experience at camp. Hourly Salary: $15.00 per hour.

Requirements

Minimum age 18 years and older.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Must be willing to obtain CPR & First Aid Certificate (training available).
Background check required.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass driving record check.
Must be able to work all day outdoors, May 25 – July 31, M-F hours vary 7 am - 5:30 pm.
Time scheduled will shift with camp staff absences.
Must attend a paid camp training held May 18 - 22.

Nice To Haves

Teaching, outdoor skills, camp, and/or environmental education experience preferred.
Some college preferred.
