Our Outdoor Discovery Camps are licensed KDHE school-age programs run by our award-winning Outdoor Education Team of full-time Park Naturalists. This position assists in leading children ages 6-12 in outdoor and indoor activities including games, stories, crafts, swimming, creek exploration, field trips, kayaking & canoeing, archery, bb guns, hiking, nature and wildlife lessons, etc. May perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum age 16 years and older.
Must be willing to obtain CPR & First Aid Certificate (training available).
Background check required.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass driving record check.
Must be able to work all day outdoors, May 26 – July 31, M-F shift hours vary 7 am-5:30 pm with approximately 40 hours per week.
Must attend a paid camp training held May 18-22.
JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions.
Specified criteria may vary by Department.

Nice To Haves

Ability to teach campers, problem solve, and exercise independent judgment.
Comfortable with assisting in leading groups of children ages 6-12.

Responsibilities
