Our Outdoor Discovery Camps are licensed KDHE school-age programs run by our award-winning Outdoor Education Team of full-time Park Naturalists. This position assists in leading children ages 6-12 in outdoor and indoor activities including games, stories, crafts, swimming, creek exploration, field trips, kayaking & canoeing, archery, bb guns, hiking, nature and wildlife lessons, etc. May perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum age 16 years and older.
  • Must be willing to obtain CPR & First Aid Certificate (training available).
  • Background check required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass driving record check.
  • Must be able to work all day outdoors, May 26 – July 31, M-F shift hours vary 7 am-5:30 pm with approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Must attend a paid camp training held May 18-22.
  • JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions.
  • Specified criteria may vary by Department.
