About The Position

Supervisor is expected to be an excellent role model as they teach a variety of outdoor skills and foster a close community of participants. Outdoor skills taught include backpacking, kayaking, camp cooking, orienteering, archery, environmentalism concepts, and general outdoor education. Other specialized skills taught as needed.

Requirements

Experience in adventure / outdoor recreation.
Prior experience with Children
Clean driving record
must be eighteen (18) years of age at time of application, and excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Applicants must be able to pass a complete criminal background check which includes fingerprinting and child abuse registry.
Environmentalism principles
Various outdoor recreation activities
Southeastern Wyoming terrain and outdoor areas
Risk management.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Work personably with the public and other professionals in times of conflict or crisis.
Adapt to change and problem solve.
Remain calm under pressure.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Work with youth, teens, and adults alike.
Effectively demonstrate all methods for various outdoor activities
Ability to work with children as young as 8 years old.

Nice To Haves

Preference given for Rock Climbing experience.

Responsibilities

Assists in the leading of groups on outdoor recreation activities and trips that may include backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking, etc.
Drives City vehicles to transport participations and/or equipment.
Ensures safety.
Assists in planning activities.
Assist in appropriate selection of supplies, raw materials, and literature.
Inventory of required materials
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
