About The Position

The Opportunity Join Hitachi Energy’s Grid Components team as we continue to shape the future of reliable, sustainable power delivery. As the Outbound Shipping & Materials Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of finished goods and production materials across our Mt. Pleasant operations. From coordinating outbound shipments to keeping assembly lines supplied with precision and accuracy, you’ll be at the center of operational excellence—enabling our teams to deliver high‑quality products to customers safely, on time, and with confidence. In this dynamic role, you’ll collaborate with distribution centers, logistics teams, production leaders, carriers, and union employees to support seamless material movement and finished‑goods shipping. You’ll influence key logistics decisions, elevate efficiency, and help maintain the standards that make Hitachi Energy a trusted global leader. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain roles.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations, transportation logistics, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience working within a union‑employee environment.
  • Proficiency in WMS/ERP systems; SAP S4 HANA experience required.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel and related office applications, with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate loading and unloading of shipments while ensuring safe handling practices.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and address discrepancies across warehouse and assembly areas.
  • Collaborate with planning teams to assess material needs and prevent bottlenecks.
  • Organize and distribute materials to assembly stations aligned with production schedules.
  • Oversee packaging and labeling to meet shipping specifications and documentation requirements.
  • Schedule shipments with carriers, track deliveries, and share proof of delivery with internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, including requirements for oil‑filled, high‑voltage products.
  • Partner with logistics teams to support freight negotiations and cost optimization.
