About The Position

Miller Expedited Freight is seeking Class A Owner Operators with their own authority and insurances for Over The Road (OTR) routes. Applicants must complete an online driver application. The compensation structure includes $1.61/mile plus fuel surcharge for outbound loads, or flat rate loads (averaging $0.55 to $0.80 CPM, typically $0.55 to $0.60 CPM). Backhauls are 85% of gross. Payments are weekly, with all loads factored at 2%. A $2500.00 sign-on bonus is offered, with details provided during orientation. Drivers can expect to average 2500-2700 loaded miles per week. The position involves 99% no touch freight and offers low detention time and stop off pay. People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean 3-year driving record
At least 24 Years of age
3 years verifiable experience
No at fault accidents in the last 3 years
Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery
Familiarity with various trailer
Strong understanding of load & unload procedures and safety standards
Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
Ability to work independently on long-haul routes and manage schedules effectively
Required to have broker agreement, trailer interchange agreement, Physical insurance, Cargo insurance, Liability insurance, Passenger insurance (Only needed if taking any passengers), and authority on file with Miller Expedited Freight to be able to haul loads
List Miller Expedited Freight as the additionally insured with their insurance providers

Responsibilities

Safely operate tractor-trailers over long-distance routes across multiple states
Load and unload freight efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
Manage route driving schedules to ensure timely deliveries
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer
Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery documentation
Ensure compliance with all federal and state transportation regulations
Handle freight securely
Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly
