About The Position

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges. As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support. In evaluating inorganic growth opportunities, the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) Finance team plays a pivotal role in shaping Google's future by leading financial models, valuation analyses, and insights for making sound business decisions. Working in close partnership with Corporate Development, Legal, Finance, Accounting and Tax teams to provide financial experience to help decision-makers assess the strengths and risks involved in a given investment or acquisition opportunity. The M&A Finance team for Other Bets is a critical function within Alphabet's finance organization, responsible for the financial oversight and execution of transactions across a portfolio of high-growth, companies. In this role, you will not only have a strong finance, valuation and accounting background, but you will also harness this knowledge to navigate financial issues to find creative solutions for our Other Bets portfolio. You will serve as the primary finance partner for corporate finance activities, including managing valuations, leading financial workstreams for multi-billion dollar divestitures, fundraises, and M&A investments while ensuring financial integrity and compliance. The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), investments and divestitures (valuation analysis, financial analysis, agreement structuring, due diligence) in a public accounting, private equity/venture capital, or multi-national company environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with broad set of Alphabet stakeholders leading the Alphabet financial workstreams for corporate transactions including fundraising, restructuring, multi-stage de-consolidation, divestitures, and spin-outs.
  • Lead end-to-end 409A and quarterly/annual valuation processes, conducting detailed multi-scenario financial modeling and market research to support valuation outcomes for portfolio companies.
  • Serve as the primary Alphabet finance partner for bet acquisitions and investments including advising and managing agreements structuring, financial diligence, legal agreements and transaction closing.
  • Lead accounting and tax analysis for Other Bet corporate finance activities, including specialized assessments (e.g., Held-for-Sale, impairment, deconsolidation, tax-free spin) and managing core regulatory compliance (e.g., capitalization tables, Bet reporting).
  • Develop and present clear, concise financial updates, risk analyses, and recommendations to executive leadership including the Alphabet Board and CFO.
