About The Position

This position is a 6‑month contract‑to‑hire opportunity centered on project and vendor management rather than traditional engineering. The role supports the launch of a new fiber network in Phoenix and requires a candidate who is assertive, self‑driven, and capable of managing aggressive timelines while ensuring design accuracy and vendor accountability. Work is primarily remote with occasional field visits.

Requirements

  • Project and vendor management leadership
  • Ability to enforce SLAs and drive delivery timelines
  • Validation of engineering and civil designs
  • GIS proficiency, especially ESRI/LightPlan
  • Strong communication, escalation, and cross‑functional coordination
  • Working knowledge of OSP engineering principles
  • Assertiveness, adaptability, and proactive problem‑solving in a fast‑paced environment
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in telecom, fiber deployment, or OSP project management
  • Strong organizational discipline and ability to juggle multiple deadlines
  • Experience working directly with city officials and permitting authorities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, delivery‑driven environment
  • Adaptability and willingness to support business needs beyond standard remote work

Nice To Haves

  • Permitting and municipal coordination
  • Understanding of fiber construction standards, conduit packages, setbacks, and utility conflicts
  • Experience redlining and reviewing vendor‑submitted designs
  • Familiarity with vendors such as NBNC, Centerline, and Squan
  • Telecom or fiber deployment experience in growth environments
  • Strong organizational and time‑management capabilities
  • Comfort with remote collaboration tools (Teams, Outlook, shared drives)
  • Willingness to travel 2–3 days per month for field visits or in‑person meetings

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple vendors and enforce SLAs to maintain project momentum
  • Validate civil and OSP engineering designs using LightPlan and other GIS tools
  • Coordinate with municipalities to resolve design conflicts and expedite permitting
  • Review, redline, and approve vendor design packages before submission
  • Track project timelines, escalate blockers, and ensure on‑time delivery
  • Support field visits and site walks as needed to resolve issues or verify conditions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align on deployment strategy and execution
