Where You’ll Work Hello humankindness Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 400 providers and 1200 support staff that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 subspecialty services. The physicians provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic, research and leadership roles. DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrow's healthcare providers. DHMG has 84 medical school students and approximately 200 residents and fellows throughout the 25 academic programs. For the health of our community ... we are proud to announce that we are a tobacco-free campus Job Summary and Responsibilities Medical Assistant responsibilities include providing a basic level of patient care and treatment. Assists with obtaining vital signs, documents chief complaint, obtains patient history, and provides assistance to physicians, residents and/or licensed nursing personnel. Alerts physician of problems/concerns/abnormalities. Orthopedic Technician responsibilities include performs casting, splinting, traction application and various soft good applications. Works with providers, residents, nurse practitioners, and nurses to coordinate ongoing orthopedic needs. Assists providers with wound care. Every day you'll prepare patients, educate on device care, and ensure comfort during applications/removals, while maintaining equipment and documenting interactions. To succeed, you need strong orthopedic anatomy knowledge, aseptic techniques, and device application skills. Maintains hospital standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens and collects laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol. Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested. Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies. Performs follow-up actions as directed. Documents clinically relevant findings in the patient's record according to hospital protocols and clinical protocols. Monitors and records patient vital signs, weight, positioning, ADL's I&O activity and blood glucose readings per RN instructions, hospital protocols, and standards of care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or completion of an U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program.
  • Candidates who completed a program prior to February 2, 2000 can satisfy the minimum education requirements by providing evidence of direct supervision by the same physician, physician group, or physician assistant for a minimum of 2000 hours to satisfy the education requirements.
  • As related to Medical Assistant, demonstrated experience with computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients.
  • As related to Orthopedic Tech, six months related experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience with computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients required.
  • American Heart Association BLS card
  • strong orthopedic anatomy knowledge
  • aseptic techniques
  • device application skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous MA experience highly preferred.
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
  • Previous experience in designated specialty
  • Bilingual skills
